PRINCIPAL’S REPORT ~ April 1st, 2026
Management Update
End of Term 1
A reminder that Term 1 will conclude this Thursday, 2nd April at 2:30pm.
The Easter Bonnet Parade will begin at 1:30pm, followed by assembly at 1:45pm. During the assembly, Values Awards will be presented, the Easter Egg raffle will be drawn, and the winners of the Easter Bonnet and colouring competition will be announced.
Thank you for your support throughout Term 1. We wish all families a safe and happy holiday.

Term 2 Recommencement
Students will return to school on Monday 20th April.
Myself and the School Captains will be attending the Drysdale ANZAC Day Parade and Ceremony on Saturday 25th April. Other students from the school are warmly invited to join us.
The ANZAC Day proceedings will begin with the Veterans’ March at approximately 10:30am, starting from the corner of Eversley Street and Princess Street. The march will proceed along Princess Street, pass the cenotaph, and conclude at the CFA station.
Following the march, a commemoration service will be held at the cenotaph on High Street (adjacent to the CFA Station), beginning at approximately 11:00am. During the service, our School Captains will present a reading and lay a wreath on behalf of the school.
We encourage families to support this important community event.
Dogs Onsite
We ask that all dogs are kept on a leash at all times and, where possible, are not brought onsite—particularly during busy times when children are arriving at or leaving school.
Please be mindful that some students have a fear of dogs. If you do bring a dog, we recommend standing back from the gates and crowds to help ensure your dog remains calm and does not become startled.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our school environment safe and comfortable for everyone.

Wellbeing Update
Colour Fun Run
Congratulations to all students who participated in the 2026 Colour Fun Run. It was a fantastic day filled with fun, smiles, and plenty of laughter—well done to everyone involved!
A big thank you to Amanda Edwards for the wonderful job organising the event, and to the parent volunteers who generously gave their time to support the day and join in the fun. It was a great success!
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club has now expanded to run on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings before school, and it has been a big hit with excellent attendance.
A big thank you to Sam, our chaplain Donna, the House Captains and School Captains, our parent volunteers, and the Drysdale Uniting Church for their ongoing support.
We also gratefully acknowledge Foodbank and the Drysdale Uniting Church for their generous funding of the Breakfast Program.
Curriculum Update
Each term, students participate in a Unit of Inquiry that integrates a range of subject areas, including economics, history, geography, sustainability, and science.
This term, our Year 5/6 students explored an exciting unit titled Bridge Fest!. As part of their learning about engineering forces in bridge design, students imagined, designed, calculated, and tested their own bridges to withstand water, wind, and weight.
This unit also complemented their novel study, which focused on a character involved in bridge building in Scotland, helping to deepen their understanding through a real-world connection.
The unit concluded with a Festival Day, where students put their bridges to the test for strength and durability. It was a fantastic success—congratulations to all Year 5/6 students on their creativity and effort!
